Education in Germany
Speaking about education in Germany, one should mention that the higher educational system is presented mainly by the public colleges and universities; the amount of private colleges and universities is very limited.
The attention mostly paid to the model of education than to the research work. If speaking about the higher education in whole, one can mention that the main distinctive feature of it is mobility. Students have right to choose several universities at one and the same time, as they do not have fixed classes, they can change several educational institutions during the years of the education; it gives some freedom to the education in Germany, which one is not able to find in the United States of America or in France.
After graduating form school, everybody can opt to enter the university; however, all males have to serve in military or alternative service in the duration of 9 months.
The majority of courses are given an opportunity to receive Master’s degree; it is given after 4 or 5 years of education. In order to receive doctoral degree, one should take additional courses, which last in the duration of three or five years. During this period one should not attend classes, he or she is making his or her own research.
